Application
It is suitable for measuring the water absorption of various white cardboard, whiteboard, boxboard, carton paper, kraft paper, etc., but it is not suitable for accurately evaluating the writing performance of paper or cardboard. Used in paper packaging and printing manufacturers.
Test principle
Water absorption on the surface of paper and cardboard (Cobb method) value: the amount of water absorbed by the surface of paper and cardboard per unit area under a certain pressure and temperature within a specified time, in g/㎡. The specific formula is as follows:
C=(G2-G1)×100
In the formula: C - water absorption value of COBB;
G2 - the weight of the sample weighed after absorbing water;
G1 - The mass of the sample weighed before water absorption.
The paper and cardboard absorbency tester is a conventional instrument for the water absorption test of the paper and cardboard surface, also known as the paper surface absorbance gravimeter. This instrument adopts the Cobb test method in various methods of absorption test, so it is also called Cobb absorption tester.
